10 Oct ~ Casa Bloom gardeners came visiting

After hearing about our compost heap at a recent community-in-bloom networking event arranged by Southwest CDC, Laura and friends from Casa Bloom community-in-bloom garden wanted to come visit Pavilion’s garden, and in particular learn how we create our compost heap.

Five gardeners from Casa Bloom community gardens came. They shared that their community gardens are in 2 separate locations, on a multi-storey carpark in Clementi area. They have tried making compost, but it always didn’t seem to be done properly, so they came to learn.

Dennis, our resident “expert”, kindly shared his knowledge :) His class was really attentive and asked a lot of questions.

We also had another family visiting us, who coincidentally was also from Clementi area. Cherie, who first heard about our garden via Foodscape Collective, donated some pumpkin seedlings and rock melon seedlings. We transplanted them to the former 3 Sisters bed, where the corn seeds we put in didn’t really germinate, but whatever came by wind or well-intended neighbours did!
