19 Jul 2015 ~ Update

The core team & gardeners were busy with various things this morning :)

First up, here were some donations from neighbours for the compost heap. Coffee waste, tea waste, banana waste, corn waste, fruit peels used to make fruit enzyme. Cuifen got busy with cutting up the garden waste, re-building up the layers of the compost heap, integrating in the donated items. The compost heap material is almost ready really, and we hope the fruit enzyme and coffee will help boost its process.

Dennis and Lydia got busy with digging the 3 sisters bed, and preparing the bed to sow a new batch of corn kernels. These corn kernels have margarine fragrance! The beautiful Spotted Doves must have spotted the corn kernels from the trees nearby for 1-2 Spotted Doves started coming!

Giam was also busy tending to his allocated bed.

We liked how he cycled to the garden, with a pot tied to the back of the bicycle :)

Here’s a collage of some of the things to see around the edible garden… Mini harvests today: long beans, green beans, butterfly blue pea flowers, dill, amaranth
